Her Name Is Knight

Author: Yasmin Angoe

New author Yasmin Angoe’s splendid debut novel, “Her Name Is Knight” features an elite female assassin on a mission to upset a human trafficking ring and avenge her family which she was stolen from her African village as a child. Main character Nena Knight ends up working for a powerful syndicate called The Tribe and learns that a Tribe council member is the same man who devastated her village, murdered her family, and sold her into captivity.

This intense story is about Nena trying to avoid the temptation of vengeance and how she must leverage everything she was and everything she is to take down the villain and end his cycle of violence and mayhem.

This book was filled with action, suspense, and anger I personally felt because of the human trafficking problem. I couldn't put it down. Angoe’s writing was incredible. She did an excellent job creating awareness of the human trafficking issue, teaching me in a compelling, dare I say entertaining way and telling a thrilling and rousing story that kept me engaged and intrigued.

The narrative, at times is a difficult story to read so if you are uncomfortable with physical, mental, and sexual abuse, this may not be the book for you. It’s a remarkable story, full of grit, tenacity, courage, and fortitude. I love how strong the main character Nena Knight is and am looking forward to continuing this series.

Tragic but triumphant, Her Name Is Knight is a very good read…
