Author: Brad Thor
“Back Lash”, the 18th novel in Brad Thor's Scot Harvath series, is among the best and likely the most suspenseful since “The Lions of Lucerne.” This book is without a doubt one of my favorites in the Scot Harvath series.
Brad Thor has a way of keeping the story rich in detail, but also emotionally accessible and entertaining. It’s another solid, adventure packed thriller! Just when you think you've figured out the story and you know what Harvarth is going to do next, he takes a right turn when you were expecting a left and Thor takes you on a totally new adventure.
Several times when you think Harvarth is about to reach his limit, he’s actually just warming up. Thor does an eloquent job in making the reader believe that not all Russians are bad guys and in fact, many of them given a choice would choose our side if given the chance. And I believe it's a much more realistic view of the political situation than most people think.
Thor is an expert at casting a scene, one after another and driving a compelling story. While Scot Harvath stories are always solid, Thor consistently writes enough tension into the narrative to drive the story forward, with information and sensory detail. He creates great page-turners.
Back Lash to me was one of Thor’s most satisfying books. He definitely kicked it up a number of notches with this one. I was riveted from the first chapter to the last. This is the best Brad Thor novel to date and probably my favorite!
